Looks like Culus Quest 2 has been leaked again, and this time only through Facebook.
A ton of stuff around the rumored device, actually called Oculus Quest 2, has been found on Facebook’s blueprint website. Some of it has been taken down, but not before others stick it on YouTube, and some of it is still going on. It includes a pretty in-depth overview of some of the announcements and specs you have yet to run with the specs.
Oculus Quest 2 leaked
The video mentions that the headset has a new, more comfortable design, which we will already be familiar with from the device’s earlier, less official leaks. It also gives details of the specs – Quest 2 apparently has 6GB of RAM and uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR2 chipset. It’s a big jump from the original Quest, featuring the Snapdragon 835.
It also offers players an “almost 4K display”, with the original 2K per eye. The ‘Inside the Headset’ video below confirms that it got 50% more pixels than the original Quest screen.
The video notes that there will be a 256GB version of Quest 2 and it gives us a look at the new controllers with “updated ergonomics”. The headset will also play your old quest titles, however, we haven’t seen any new games or experiences yet. Meanwhile, the following video confirms that O Coolus link support is still included.
However, the videos close short confirming.
It is quite possible that this content was actually saved for the Facebook Connect Developer Conference on Wednesday, September 16th. The new show replaces the old Culus Connect event and is expected to officially host Quest 2 with the official revelation, among other announcements.
We’ll cover all the latest news from the show, so keep going. With Oculus Quest 2 leaking, so you’re thinking of picking up the kit? Let us know in the comments below!
