Chase Rice We went back to touring this weekend, and to start … the guy allowed thousands of people to flood a concert hall, with ZERO greetings for coronavirus safety.
The country music singer held his first show Saturday night at the former prison-turned event center called the Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary in Petros, Tennessee. It can usually hold 10,000 bodies for a concert, but this weekend … only 4,000 were allowed in.
Still, that turned out to be more than enough to pack up and band together for Chase’s return to the stage. That is exactly what happened, something he filmed himself.
As you can see, swarms of people are too close for comfort, without practicing the slightest hint of social estrangement, and virtually NO ONE is wearing a face mask, including Chase. However, it is more about the people on the ground: they are the ones who are really at risk.
It also doesn’t help that Chase guided them through a singing moment, which likely exacerbated any kind of possible rona molecules already flying through the air. And of course, like many other parts of the country, COVID-19 cases are also on the rise in TN.
Oddly enough, the Brushy Prison site clearly says that they will adhere to social estrangement, but it seems they must have missed their own note at the time of the show.
What’s even weirder about all this is that a handful of other venues for Chase’s upcoming concerts are actually drive-in installations, which would alleviate the concerns we see here. So was this s *** security demo just a flub or exception? It’s hard to say for sure right now.
In any case, we have reached out to the Chase team for feedback … so far, we have received no news.
