Columbia University did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment.

The university said in a statement on Twitter on Tuesday about the graduation ceremonies that “these programs” exist instead of university-wide start-ups and individual school class days, and are “voluntary” and “open to every student.” “

The university wrote in a tweet, “These events are important, intimate and welcoming places for students joining these groups to come together to celebrate their achievements if they wish,” the university wrote in a tweet. “They are organized together with students and student groups.”

A university-wide opening ceremony will be held in Columbia on April 30th.
