What if I could tell you that Saturday’s three SEC games combined have 3,380 yards and 276 points? And the winners of two of those games were over Missouri, LSU and Texas A&M, Florida?
As if 2020 wasn’t weird enough, here we look like SEC Big 12 and Big 12 in Week 3 … good, bad. A four-overtime win over Texas in Oklahoma’s wild, Red River shootout confirmed the conference’s two powerhouse programs in the Big 12 standings are 2-2 and just ahead of Kansas-Kansas.
Oh, you want more weird? Let’s get back to the SEC, where Kentucky recorded a 24-2, full 157-yard offense over Mississippi State. Speaking of which, State Coach Mike Leach’s air raid offense had more interruptions (6) than points (0). Then there was ub burn-Arkansas. Below 28-227, urnburn quarterback Bo Nix meant to boost football, but he messed up the instant and then spiked The back ball that should rule the back side. The whistle knocked the game, ub burned the ball and kicked the field goal to win the game.
Oh, even more so. Alabama and LSU, two programs that once played with a to-– score in 2011, allowed 1,233 yards on Saturday. The Crimson Tide, in fact, tied the game with Le Le Miss in the fourth quarter, 2-2–3, before pulling themselves together.
Meanwhile, outside the SEC, North Carolina relinquished an almost 21-point lead after Boston College missed a game-tie with an extra point in overtime, which included a cowardly-depressed Virginia Tech, and BYU struggled to stay unbeaten with a tight win. On UTSA.
