Tulsa at No. 11 Oklahoma State (-23) – Afternoon on ESPN: I’ll give this Philip Montgomery’s program: They can’t give up and life can be difficult with the eyes of the team that keeps an eye on them. I don’t know if quarterback Zack Smith and Co. have what it takes to win as a big dog on the road. Can they cover? Maybe. The ranked teams in 2020 have so far not been surprised against the spread. But I think Oklahoma State shows that it’s not like Iowa State and the other Big 12 teams that struggled in Week 2. Pick: Oklahoma State-23 – Ben Kerscheval

South Florida No. 7 at Notre Dame (-25.5) – 2:30 p.m. on USA Network: If there was one thing I removed from Notre Dame’s performance against the Duke last week, it is that while Kieran Williams seems the real deal, the offense doesn’t seem too explosive. This makes it hard to believe as this big favorite. That doesn’t help the safety that Kyle Hamilton was banged during the game, and I’m not sure how healthy he will be this weekend. Last year, when the South Florida offense didn’t bring the scoreboard to light, it should be noted that the first of the team’s four touchdowns was made just before Jorge was sent into full force. So I will take up the issues here. Pick: South Florida (+25.5) – Tom Fornelly

No. 23 Appalachian State (-4) on Marshall – 3:30 p.m. on CBS: Although I’m a big fan of what defensive-minded Doc Holiday has done on martial arts during his tenure, he’s going against potential buzz in the Appalachian State team with an average of about 39 points per game a year ago. And gives his star quarterback Zack Thomas. Yes, the Mountaineers got off to a slow start against Charlotte last week when Thundering Hurde completely dominated FCS Eastern Kentucky, but unless there are any unexpected inaction, the Appalachian state brings in a better team. I like this more for anything-4 or app state, but it won’t go away considering being on the road and Marshall is a staunch opponent. Pick: Appalachian State-4 – Adam Silverstein

Citadel at No. 1 Clemson (-45.5) – 4pm on ACC Network: The Bulls are in Year 1 with Jeff Scott and it’s hard to use last week’s result against the USF as a data point for consideration where Clemson is, with almost a decade of ACC dominance under Demo Swinney. But the fact that Citadel had his offense rolling in the first half, I am confident enough to be able to find a way to cover this number in the Bulldogs. The most important thing for everyone involved in this contest is not to hurt anyone, so look for a very generous approach to clock management in the second half of the 49-6 Clemson win. Pick: Citadel (+45.5) – Chip Patterson

17 Miami (FL) at No. 17 Louisville (-2.5) – 7:30 p.m. on ABC: Miami’s very se fee of no has been centered around the fact that it has turned into his offense, but this is probably a 2019 game when he will happily take on an offensive performance through the last coordinator and quarterback. From a betting standpoint, you’re definitely a factor in Scott Sutterfield and Louisville’s return to defense who don’t want to be embarrassed again at their home, especially in primetime. I think Louisville’s offense is more dynamic than Miami’s, but the Hurricane Defense Cardinals unit is one step ahead, especially when it comes to playmakers on the defensive line. The story of the tape is for a wash, so I expect the dog to be the shootout of the game. Pick: Miami (+2.5) – Chip Patterson
