New Year’s Six Bowl games
Elsewhere, the UCF lost its 21-game home win to Orlando, Tulsa, in the final. Golden Hurricane won 34-26, giving them an overall two wins over the Knights. The UCFA fined 19, including a total of 19 wrong starts. The Knights have now made 25 wrong starts in their first three games. That would be a lot for him Season.
BYU is trying to make a case for inclusion in the playoffs – or at least one New Year’s six game. The Cougars extended Louisiana’s Tech 45-14 to 3-0 on Friday night. The Cougars will travel to Boise State on November 7 and to Houston on October 16. I would be surprised if BYU can manage to remain undefeated, especially if it continues to dominate, leaving the New Year’s sixth. Unlike teams in Group Five, there is no automatic entry for the Cougars. As independents, they have to get high enough in the rankings to earn a large number. Having the Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl as semifinals this season helps as it usually takes them to a potential second contract place in the New Year’s Six for four conferences connected with the Bowls.
Finally, we have lost two more Bowl games this week. ESPN Events announced the cancellation of games in Hawaii and the Bahamas due to travel restrictions amid the COVID-19 epidemic. Back in July, the Redbox Bowl announced that it would not be hosting any games this season.
There are now a total of 39 bowls for 78 teams. Still, there are no Bowl eligibility standards, so I have three winning teams in Bowl games this season.
