Colin Jost was nervous that his Oscar-nominated fiancé Scarlett Johansson would overshadow her.
The “Saturday Night Live” star admitted on SiriusXM’s “The Howard Stern Show” that earlier in their relationship he was afraid of being known only as Johansson’s sweet arm.
“That was definitely a concern. I was concerned about my identity with him and also with comedy, “the author of” A Very Punchable Face “told Stern.” I was always concerned about anything that seemed not to be comedy … you have to maintain your own identity and do your own thing. “
Jost, 38, met Johansson, 35, in 2006 when she made her first appearance as a presenter on “SNL.” The couple started dating in 2017 and got engaged in May 2019.
When asked by Stern if he was jealous of seeing Johansson in love scenes, Jost replied, “I don’t think it really happened that he experienced it since we left.”
He joked, “I’m going to try and push her into a lot more animated stuff. Only the whole voice works.
While Jost and Johansson have yet to reveal their marriage plans, perhaps the “SNL” ensemble can host the after party.
