Cold air blows in South Florida, the lowest temperature seen in months

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – This is a cooling change for South Florida, as our first taste of winter revolves around a cold front.

Tuesday morning saw a low in the 50s, something we haven’t felt since early March. People close to our shores saw temperatures in the upper 50s, but felt farther from the coast in the mid-50s.

See the report of local 10 meteorologist Ludd Dris below:

This is below the normal low of 66, starting in December.

It will be colder late Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning.

Temperatures will sink to the mid-40s far from the coast, while people closer to the coast could live in the lower 50s.

A fast and significant north wind gust of 25 miles per hour will accompany the weather, adding a little to the cold factor.

Most Tuesdays and Wednesdays will be crisp and cool with 70s, although some spots can hang in the 60s.

The temperature trend will start on Thursday, and we will be back in business as usual by the end of the week.

But the winter front is moving forward, and a second dose of cold air is coming in by the end of the week.
