The second hour of AEW Dynamite ended with an excellent TNT Championship match between Cody Rhodes and Scorpio Sky. Cody was accompanied to the ring by Arn Anderson and The Nightmare Family (Brandi Rhodes, Dustin Rhodes, QT Marshall, and Allie). Sky got a new entry with a new theme. Former WWE Referee Mike Chioda made his debut during this match.
There were several false finishes during this match, including a moment when Sky came out after Cody delivered the Cross Rhodes. Cody was finally able to win the game after beating a second Cross Rhodes.
After the game, Brodie Lee appeared on the big screen and announced that in 10 days on Saturday, August 22, he would take Cody’s TNT Championship.
