Superhero movies are as great as ever. Thanks to the announcement of Zack Snyder Justice League, fans are eager to discover alternative cuts from other comic book movies. As Avengers Endgame It’s the highest grossing movie of all time, unadjusted for inflation, some wondering if the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie has its own director cut there.
Fans have learned a lot of discarded ideas from ‘Avengers: Endgame’
In some respects, the notion of an alternative Avengers Endgame It seems laughable. After all, the stage version already lasts three hours. Could directors Joe and Anthony Russo really have cut a significant amount of footage? Furthermore, we have heard over and over again about the moments that writers and / or directors ruled out during production.
As far as fans know, most, if not all, of these ideas were scrapped before production began. But there is a chance that some may have been filmed. Marvel Studios has released a tribute on the battlefield to the late Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) and a special appearance by Katherine Langford as her daughter Morgan. These scenes raise the question: what else did we not see?

But Joe and Anthony Russo claim they have always realized their vision.
Unfortunately for fans who expect a more detailed answer to that question, Avengers Endgame you’re not getting a director cut anytime soon. And it’s not because Marvel Studios gets in the way. Rather, co-director Joe Russo, commenting on Zack Snyder’s upcoming appearance League of Justice The comic book movie audiences have already seen the vision of the Russo brothers.
I think it’s always great when the original vision of a director can hit the screen. We have been very, very lucky in our careers that everything we did for Marvel we would call our director’s cuts. They were very kind and respectful, and they supported our vision of those movies. And there’s nothing sitting on the editing room floor that we suddenly want to go back to those movies. We work very hard to find out what the current cut of those films is. So we are very fortunate to have published our director’s cut on all four films.
Remarkably, Russo does not clarify whether they filmed any main subplots or missing action sequences in the final cut. Rather, he and co-director Anthony Russo managed to narrow down the material they had to the best version ever. Even if a ton of footage were cut, it probably would have bogged down the pace of the film or tangled its story.

Are superhero movies finally focusing more on filmmakers?
Increasingly, the MCU and DC Extended Universe have recognized the value of filmmakers. Each director brings a specific vision. Take Cathy Yan in Birds of prey or Ryan Coogler in Black Panther. The best way to let them work, as the studies found, is by far to step aside.
Marvel in particular has cultivated relationships with various director writers. Coogler, James Gunn, Taika Waititi bring very specific voices to their respective Marvel characters. And his styles absolutely shine, proving that there is no real need for a director’s cut. That definitely seems to be the case with Avengers Endgame.
