Don Lemon opened his CNN broadcast Thursday night with a blowing monologue that President Donald Trump tasked with using the same birther tactics he used against Barack Obama on Vice Presidential candidate Kamala Harris.
“Every day, a different lie, a different conspiracy theory, a different racist dog whistle,” said a clearly deranged Lemon at the top of his show. ‘He uses the pop stage in the White House letter room, which you pay for, to lie to you. And he starts with birtherism. Can you believe it? Is it 2011 again? What’s happening? “
“Birtherism now against Kamala Harris, nominated by Joe Biden’s vice president who is a Black woman,” the host continued. “Does that ring a bell for you?”
Lemon continued to play a clip of the briefing when Trump was asked about a ‘discredited’ Newsweek column mentioning Harris’ appointment to serve as vice president. Instead of dismissing it, the president said he would look into it, telling reporters, ‘I have no idea if that is correct. I would have assumed that the Democrats would check that before she is elected to run for vice president. ”
“This man is so full of it, alone,” Lemon said of Trump. “Come on. He knows better than that. He’s the president of the United States. If he had no modicum of decency and class to just say, ‘Look, come on, let’s talk about what really matters. A lot of people are died of coronavirus. That’s serious. Kamala Harris is on the business card. Go ahead. ‘”
The host explained to viewers that he simply considered “the negligence” of Trump’s latest “dumb, dumb conspiracy theory”, but in the end he decided not to just “let go of the ugliness.”
