CNN presenter Chris Cuomo called President Donald Trump and his daughter and presidential adviser Ivanka Trump on their night Cuomo Prime Time last night, saying they were “selling” Goya products in a couple of social media posts this week.
“Can you tell me how a president in the middle of a pandemic has time for this shit? Are you kidding me? Hawking Products? Goya, I don’t care who it is. Desktop resolved? This is what is decided, “Cuomo said Wednesday on his show.
On Tuesday he was referring to Ivanka Trump posting a photo on Twitter posing with a can of Goya beans. President Trump followed up Wednesday with an Instagram photo of him posing at his desk in the Oval Office with five products, and a double thumbs-up. The photos came after Goya CEO Robert Unanue praised the president during a White House press conference last week at the Rose Garden, which drew immediate consequences on social media, including calls to boycott to the food company.

“On your dime, in the midst of a pandemic, they are selling beans. Are you kidding me? “Cuomo said.” Seriously? Seriously. This is not to the left or to the right. This is reasonable, my brothers and sisters. The guy is sitting at Resolute’s desk with a bunch of Goya products. “
Here is the segment, which started with Cuomo defending Dr. Anthony Fauci against the heat of the administration:
Unanue was at the White House to support the Trump administration’s Hispanic Prosperity Initiative, an executive order that aims to boost educational and economic opportunities for Hispanic Americans. Goya, a food and spice company, is a staple brand in the Hispanic community.
He said in his comments that “We are all truly blessed … to have a leader like President Trump who is a builder,” prompting a backlash from the boycott.
