Clippers vs. Mavericks score: Live NBA playoff updates as Luka Doncic, Dallas attempts to increase series in Game 2

The NBA playoffs in 2020 roll out on Wednesday night with what should be a fun Western Conference showdown. After a narrow Game 1 run on Monday night, the Los Angeles Clippers will be looking to take a 2-0 series lead over the Dallas Mavericks in their first-round series. The Mavericks jumped out early in the first quarter to a double-edged lead, but the Clippers fought back and closed the gap in the second.

Los Angeles immediately became a title favorite when they signed both Kawhi Leonard and Paul George in the offseason, and it has lived up to expectations in the regular season, and as no. 2 in the West ended. So far the Clippers have been strongly in the bubble, but with Montrezl Harrell arriving too late, and Patrick Beverley recovering with a bald injury – he’s out for Game 2 – it still feels like they have another level to reach

As for the Mavericks, they are back in the playoffs for the first time since 2016, and it’s almost entirely thanks to their young phenomenon, Luka Doncic. The star of the second year was unbelievable in his playoff debut, finishing with 42 points, seven handballs and nine assists. It was not enough, however, because the Mavericks disappeared in the stretch, in part due to the fact that they play without Kristaps Porzingis, who was doubtfully put off.
