Cleveland Brows puts LT Jeddick Wills on reserve / COVID-19 list

Cleveland Brown has offensive lineman Jedrick Wills Jr. on the reserve / COVID-19 list.

Outside of Alabama, the No. 10 pick in this year’s draft, has started every game on the left for Cleveland this season.

Wills was placed on the list after someone outside the organization was identified as a more dangerous weak contact. Wills deserves to be removed from the list of viruses if he tests negative in five consecutive days, possibly putting him on track to play Sunday against the New York Jets.

“Likely,” said coach Kevin Stefansky.

At least in practice Wills ’absence is the latest blow to the abruptly banged-up Browns offensive line. Starting right guard Wyatt Taylor missed Sunday’s game with an ankle and was expected to miss practice again on Thursday. Cleveland has also lost key backup lineman Chris Hubbard, who was placed on reserve this week with a knee injury starting in place of Taylor on Sunday. Rookie center has filled in the guards for Nick Harris Taylor and Hubbard.

A source told ESPN that the issue of close contact with Wills has nothing to do with its Winter Blast incident earlier this week.

The Browns also put receiver Ryan Switzer on the Practice Squad / COVID-19 list.
