Clark County hit a new single-day record for COVID-19 cases, with 47 infections recently reported on Tuesday, according to Clark County Public Health.
The county’s previous single-day record was 45 cases on July 7. The numbers reported on Mondays, which include tests on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, have been higher.
On Monday, 106 new cases were reported.
Clark County has confirmed 1,319 COVID-19 cases and 33 deaths. The county has added four deaths since July 8 after spending several weeks without any.
There are currently 29 people hospitalized for the virus in Clark County, and 12 people hospitalized awaiting the results of the coronavirus tests.
Hospitals in Clark County have 65 percent of their bed capacity and have dedicated 6.5 percent of the beds to COVID-19 cases.
A recent spike in infections has raised the county’s infection rate over a two-week period to 59 cases per 100,000 residents, more than double the allowed level before the county can move on to Phase 3 reopening restrictions. More relaxed.
The county has averaged almost 45 cases per day in the past week.
At least 19,713 have been screened for the virus in Clark County since the pandemic began.
Washington has 41,757 confirmed cases and 1,399 deaths.
