City CV Weed Positivity Rate is 6.08%, reported in 81 New Deaths Weekend


Connecticut’s COVID-19 positivity rate is now 6.08% and the virus killed 81 more people over the weekend.

The state’s coronavirus death toll is now 5,444.

There has also been an increase of 33 in hospital admissions since Friday. There are currently 1,243 people in Connecticut hospitals from the virus.

Having performed about 120,000 COVID tests, 7,231 came back positive. The state’s rolling 7-day positivity rate averages 6.8%.

A total of 8.8 million coronavirus tests have been conducted in the state since the virus outbreak in March. Of that number, only a staggering 154,000 embarrassing tests came back positive.

The first shipment of the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine to Connecticut arrived on the same day the state received its first health education and the state’s first health care workers received the vaccination.

Connecticut’s coronavirus infection has recently reached its highest number in some months. Friday’s test positivity rate was 7%.

The vaccine is delivered this week

Connecticut is expected to receive about 130,000 doses of the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine over the next two weeks.

Governor Ned Lamont released a breakdown of how many Connecticut hospitals have received this week.

Distributed 1,200 covid vaccines have been distributed, of which 15,600 were given to hospitals for health care workers and 15,600 to CVS and Volgreen for nursing home faculty and residents.

  • Yukon Health Center / John Dempsey: 975
  • Waterbury Hospital: 975
  • Danbury Hospital: 1,950
  • Stamford Hospital: 975
  • St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center: 1,950
  • Bristol Hospital: 975
  • Griffin Health: 975
  • Hartford Hospital: 1,950
  • City Children’s Medical Center: 975
  • Middlesex Hospital: 975
  • Yale New Haven Hospital: 1,950
  • Manchester Hospital: 975

The other Connecticut hospitals mentioned above will receive the vaccine next week, according to Chief Operating Officer Josh Gable.

More than 98,000 vaccines are expected to be distributed in the state next week.

Federally qualified health centers, local health departments and pharmacies will begin receiving the vaccine next week.
