A Walmart spokesman confirmed to NBC 7 that Woolmart had temporarily closed its stove Vista Supercenter location to allow for a thorough cleaning and sanitation of the building.
The Chula Vista Supercenter, located at 875 E. H. St., closed at 2 p.m. Sunday and will reopen at 7 a.m. Tuesday.
Walmart says the closing is part of a program launched by the company to help cleaners clean and sanitize the building and prepare employees to reopen the store by reopening the shelf.
Walmart sent the following statement:
“Everything we do is for the well-being of our partners and customers, and with the guidance of Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and health experts. When the store reopens on Tuesday, we will continue to check associate health screens and temperatures, and all associates will be provided with facemasks and gloves..
These protocols are in addition to the extensive measures we have taken during the epidemic, to help our comrades and clients in the register for protection, including the installation of sneezing guards, temperature checks and mandatory mask-wearing for comrades, social distance signals and emergencies. Leave the policy for disabled or uncomfortable associates coming to work. In addition, with the help of our health ambassadors, we will continue to require consumers to wear protective face masks indoors.
“We will continue to work closely with elected and local health officials, adjusting how we serve the community with the health and safety of our customers and partners in mind.”
