A few days after President Donald Trump retweeted his rejection of anything related to the coronavirus, former game show host Chuck Woolery’s Twitter account no longer existed.
It was unclear Wednesday night whether the disappearance was related to a widespread hack Twitter experienced earlier Wednesday, or whether Twitter or Woolery himself deleted the account.
Woolery wrote on Sunday: “The most outrageous lies are those of Covid 19. Everyone lies. The CDC, the media, the Democrats, our doctors, not all but the majority, who we are told to trust. I think it’s all about the elections and preventing the economy from coming back, it’s about the elections. I’m sick of this.”
Trump retweeted the comment, which triggered a firestorm and prompted questions from White House reporters about whether Trump was attacking claims by his own health officials about the virus.

CBS News Catherine Herridge asked Trump, “They forwarded a tweet yesterday saying that the CDC and health officials are lying.” Understand that this is confusing to the public. So who do they believe? You or medical professionals like Dr. Fauci?
“I did not make a comment,” Trump told Herridge. “I did. I republished a tweet that a lot of people feel. But all I’m doing is making a comment. I’m just putting someone’s voice out there. There are many voices. There are many people who think we shouldn’t do this kind of testing. Because everything we do is a trap. “
Late Monday, Woolery apparently shared a less combative message on Twitter saying: “To further clarify and add perspective, Covid-19 is real and it’s here. My son tested positive for the virus and I feel sorry for those who suffer and especially for those who have lost loved ones. ”
Snopes.com has verified the Woolery Monday tweet, the archived version of which is available here.
It is unclear whether his son’s condition, reactions to his original tweet, or something else led Woolery or Twitter to delete his account.
The deadline has reached Woolery and Twitter, but did not immediately receive any news either.
