Google offers several perks in exchange for buying one of its Chromebooks, something that adds a bit of an incentive for those who may be around these small and fairly limited devices. Available benefits are updated on a semi-regular basis to add new opportunities, something that happened recently and involves cloud storage company Dropbox. From now on, Chromebook users have the opportunity to get 100 GB of cloud storage for free.
If you head over to Google’s ‘Chromebook Perks’ website, you’ll see the addition of a Dropbox benefit that offers 100GB of cloud storage space for 12 months (free of course). The big requirement is that you have a Chromebook device, which allows you to claim the benefit; must be redeemed before July 23, 2021.
This new benefit joins the 100 GB of cloud storage space that Google offers to Chromebook users. This offer includes the Google One platform and is also free for one year, after which you must start paying to maintain space.
Cloud storage is possibly vital for Chromebook owners – these devices often have very little storage space on board, and Chrome OS has a rudimentary file management system. Both Dropbox and Google One are similarly priced for those who want to keep storage: Dropbox offers 2TB for $ 10 / mo, while Google One has more plan options, including 100GB for $ 1.99 / mo, 200GB for $ 2.99 / month, ending at 2TB for $ 10 / mo.
As for Chromebook perks, Google offers a number of other things: There are three free months of Disney +, for example, discounts on Stadia cloud games, both DOOM I and DOOM II free, The Elder Scrolls: Legends, free 30-day quiet meditation app for free, plus Duet Display, Fallout Shelter, Stardew Valley and more.
