Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace questioned President Trump for a one-hour interview that aired Sunday, and believes former Vice President Joe Biden should “come out of the basement” and face similar scrutiny.
“The fact is, the president is out there. He was out there in this scorching heat with me for an hour, he answered all the questions. He may like his answers or not, but he had answers and Joe Biden has not faced that kind of scrutiny, he has not faced that kind of exposure, “Wallace told Bret Baier of Fox News on Monday.

“You must feel that at some point he will come out of the basement … he will have to be more exposed and answer questions as difficult as the ones I asked this president,” Wallace said. “You will have to do it with a lot of people and of course you will have those three debates with the president and you know the president can handle it in these debates … I think there is an open question there. Can Joe Biden do the same?
Wallace noted that he and all members of his team had to be tested for coronavirus before the exclusive interview.
“Everyone on the team, the makeup artist, my producer, they all came and they all had to clean their noses. We all pass the test, ”said Wallace.
Baier said he asked Biden to come in “Special Report” several times without success.

Baier, who was a guest presenter on “America’s Newsroom,” noted that Trump took several photos of Biden’s state of mind.
“Just from the point of view of political analysis, is there any danger here going this way?” Asked Baier. “In other words, all Biden has to do is show up and the bar is too low for her to be successful.”
Wallace replied: “That is what many Republican strategists worry about. If you set that bar, and the expectation is so low for Biden … three presidential debates, if he shows up and doesn’t drool, his supporters may say, ‘Well, he had a good debate.’ “
Wallace said his biggest conclusion from the interview is that Trump “does not seem to have an idea of the best way to handle” the coronavirus pandemic.
“Both in terms of politics and in terms of politics,” Wallace said. “He’s sitting there saying, ‘Well, the only reason we have more cases is because we have more evidence.'”

Wallace said the data indicates that the tests have increased, but the spread of cases has increased much more.
“He seems to disagree with some of his top public health officials,” said Wallace. “I’m not sure this is a winning strategy in terms of dealing with the coronavirus.”
Wallace noted that polls indicate that Americans trust Biden more than Trump when it comes to the virus.
