Chris Jones seeks $ 20 million per year ‘or I won’t play’

Bell famously, or infamously, pending his point of view or deep-rooted interest, resisted the entire 2018 season while he was with the Pittsburgh Steelers looking for a high contract. He was eventually released and signed a lucrative agreement with the New York Jets.

Jones, 25, will make $ 16.1 million during the 2020 season with the franchise tag and there are currently only two defensive tackles making over $ 20 million annually, for Over the Cap, and that’s the Rams’ Aaron Donald and the Colts’ DeForest Buckner

Jones, whose 87.6 rating through Pro Football Focus was the seventh-best among interior defensive linemen in 2019, is a four-year-old pro who really burst onto the scene in 2018 when he counted 15.5 sacks. In the past two seasons and 29 games played, he has 24.5 sacks. However, aside from his stats, Jones can play along the line and impact a game like few others.

If he resisted, it would not only be a blow to the chemistry of the current Super Bowl champions, but it would also take out one of the league’s most talented young defensive players.

It looks like the honeymoon might well have ended for the champions.
