Chris Christie is hospitalized after a positive COVID diagnosis

Governor of East New Jersey. Christy Christie said Saturday that she was tested at Morristown Medical Center after testing positive for COVID-19.

Christie made the announcement in a tweet, citing her history of asthma as a reason to take “precautionary measures”.

“In consultation with my doctors, I examined myself at Morristown Medical Center this afternoon. When I feel better and only see mild symptoms, we decided this is an important precautionary measure because of my asthma history.”

In a follow-up tweet, he added: “I am grateful for our hardworking medical professionals and look forward to coming home soon.”

According to the White House, Christie’s announced the diagnosis Saturday after President Trump similarly examined the hospital with “extreme caution.”

Trump hinted Sunday that former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and his lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, helped prepare him, but it’s not clear what exactly is involved.

Christie said Friday when a small group of people gathered in the White House’s map room on Monday to help prepare Trump for the next evening’s discussion.

“We were – this group – about five or six people,” Christie told ABC’s “Good Morning America.”
