With a ninth no. 1 breaks Brown off what was a five-way band for the fourth most leaders among all trades since the chart began in 1992. He passes over from Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Jay-Z and R. Kelly, each with eight now. 1s, to claim sole possession of the fourth place. Drake (26), Usher (15) and Lil Wayne (12) occupied the top three positions.
Plus, with a new week at no. 1, Brown continues after 69 cumulative weeks at no. 1 on R & B / Hip-Hop Airplay, and Usher’s sum of 68 past the second most among all trades. Drake holds a distant first place stand, with 155 frames in the top slot.
Young Thug meanwhile secures its fourth R & B / Hip-Hop Airplay no. 1 and first in a lead role. He first reigned supreme through a guest series on ‘Lifestyle’ by Rich Gang, which also featured Rich Homie Quan, a one-week leader in 2014, and followed with another one-week champion, Rae Sremmurd’s “Throw Sum Mo,” also with a Nicki Minaj assist in 2015, and on Usher’s “No Limit” in 2016.
As a main act, his previous best came out with “The London”, with J. Cole and Travis Scott, who climbed to his best 4 climbs exactly one year ago (August 24, 2019, chart).
“Crazy” conquest of the R & B / Hip-Hop Airplay card comes three weeks after it came to no. 1 over the rhythmic format and lasted one frame. The collaboration has now focused on mainstream pop radio, with a 37-34 climb on Pop Songs’ airplay chart in its third week there.
The favorable reception across multiple formats helps move the track 15-13 on the entire genre of Radio Songs. There, it rises 7% in the weekly audience to 40.2 million in the week ending August 16th.
