Chinese kindergarten teacher sentenced to death for poisoning 25 students with nitrite-laced porridges

In its official ruling on Monday, Jianzhou Intermediate People’s Court in Henan Province called Wang Yun’s motives “despicable” and “evil.” “According to the law, he should be severely punished,” the ruling said.

The court heard that on the verge of poisoning, Wang quarreled with another teacher at Xiaozo Kindergarten over how best to handle students.

Then, on the morning of March 27, 2019, Wang added nitrite to the porridge provided by the school and intended for other teacher’s students. Wang had previously bought Nitrite online.

U.S. Department of Disease Control and Prevention According to the centers, nitrite is toxic and is used in potential carcinogen fertilizers, food preservatives and munitions and explosives. At higher levels, it can prevent the human body from properly absorbing oxygen.

Wang was arrested in February 2017 after an earlier argument for trying to poison her husband, Fang. On that occasion, Wang poured nitrite into a glass used by Feng, causing minor injuries.

At the time of the kindergarten poisoning in 2019, one parent told China’s state-run tabloid Global Times that he had received a call from the kindergarten that his child had fainted and fainted. Her baby was unconscious when she arrived.

“Lati was all over (his) pants. There were other kids who were throwing too, and they looked pale,” said Lee, the father, who has a surname.

Alleged needle injuries

Wang’s sentencing comes amid new allegations of child abuse at a kindergarten in northern China.

State media Xinhua reported that the parents claimed to have found unidentified needle marks on the heads and bodies of their children when they returned from Zajon Dingki Kindergarten in Hohhot, in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

According to Xinhua, when asked about the needle holes, the children told their parents that their teacher attacked them with “toothpicks” and “red needles” for not behaving in class – and ordered their family not to tell.

In a statement, Xinsheng District Police said three women were detained on suspicion of “torturing children under their guardianship”, although the case is under investigation.

Dingki Kindergarten said in a statement that while the school has apologized for the parents’ concerns and anxieties, it has not yet received any evidence to support the claims.

The statement said that, at present, (we) have co-operated with the police to provide relevant surveillance footage and equipment, and co-operated in the investigation by the Department of Public Safety.

In November 2017, a Beijing kindergarten teacher was sentenced to 18 months in prison for stabbing four children in his classroom. According to the state-run tabloid Global Times, police said the teacher, alias Liu, was using a needle to “control” the children.
