Near the end of October, the numbers began pouring out of the largest Chinese retail outlet, JD.com, which shows us that the NVIDIA GEF orce RTX3080 stock situation is also in the APAC market area, with retailers misquoting sales figures and Reviews submitted on site.
NVIDII’s partners sold less than 1,000 JetForce RTX 3080 graphics cards at China’s largest retail outlet so far in October.
The numbers compiled by a member of the Baidu Forum show that the supply of NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 is also inadequate in the Chinese market. Not only that, but the numbers show that fake reviews are being suggested that there is no supply issue while the actual number of buyer reviews is much lower than what has been reported.
It is reported that NVIDIAI GIF orce RTX 3080 AIB graphics cards sold reached 114,410 units while in reality, JD has managed to fulfill only 74 743 orders, which is only 0.65% of the total reviews and sales recorded by the retailer. In order to submit a buyer review, JD.com requires you to show an actual invoice of the product purchased, a picture of the product, or a video and a product-related comment. But it seems that either JD.com or AIB is virtually inflating sales numbers and product reviews to show that the card is out of stock due to heavy demand when demand here is not certain.
Color is the only manufacturer that managed to show 35.71% fact reviews for its 250 cards while the rest of NVIDIA’s AIBs such as Gigabyte and GALAX, ASUS and Gigabyte have been shipped 130 130, 50 and 150 units respectively. The latter 3 AIBs sold 900, 400 and 3900 units against fake reviews, when in fact, they were much less. MSI shows below a list of graphics cards sold in most 57,000 units, but in reality, they were only able to sell 80 units, which is 0.14% of the total figure. ZATAC also lists 35,000 units sold against just 10 actual sales units.
Take for example A Ross Forsers RTX 3080 Master which is currently out of stock and according to JD.com, it has received 3900+ reviews but scrolling to buyer reviews shows only 10 actual reviews and the remaining 3890 reviews do not exist. This shows that NVIDII RTX 3080 launching is misrepresenting the number of sales by retailers and AIB is a reality to hide the false claim of massive demand, while there is more to do with the lack of supply of cards. Themselves
This certainly sounds like a paper launch by NVIDII CEO himself that the supply of its Ampere-based GeForce RTX 30 graphics cards will get better by early 2021 so this means that most users will have to wait longer to get their new graphics card, NV. Contrary to the launch date promised by the IDIA.
The same can be said for NVIDIA’s RFX 3070 graphics card, for which large retail outlets are only able to meet demand of less than 10%. The supply of the GeForce RTX 3090 is a bit better as it has more specificity and halo offering fur and does not have the same GPU demand as the RTX 3080, but since the RTX 3070 price targets the price target of 499 US, we expect a repeat. Similar to RTX 3080 stock issues.
Most users are also now considering switching to AMD’s Raden RX 6000 series which looks really good in terms of performance compared to the RTX 30 series offers. If AMD can initially manage the right stock and properly price their cards, it is likely that users are more inclined to buy RX6000 cards. Now it will clearly ease the pressure on NVIDII’s RTX30 series stock but the red team will result in gaining a significant market share in the DIY market.
