In the deep winter, the top of Xiaohaituo Mountain in Yanqing, Beijing, is covered in silver. Yesterday, the national alpine skiing center, the national snowmobile sledding center, the Yanqing Winter Olympics village and the mountain news center in the Yanqing Winter Olympics competition area of Beijing 2022 were completely completed, and the plan of the mountain forest places became a reality.
A reporter for the Beijing Youth Daily learned at the scene that the seven ski slopes of the National Alpine Ski Center descend from the top of the mountain, and the National Snowmobile and Sled Center at the foot of the mountain is like a giant dragon lying motionless, waiting for the moment to rise to the sky. The 11 cable cars and cable cars seem to be connected to all areas of alpine skiing … From a great height overlooking the entire competition area, all venues seem to be in the middle of nature.
The Yanqing competition area is located in the Xiaohaituo Mountain area, with the highest point of 2198 meters above sea level, it is the most difficult competition area for the Beijing Winter Olympics. According to Yu Dequan, deputy director of the Beijing Major Projects Bureau, the National Alpine Ski Center has built 7 slopes. This is the first national alpine ski slope to meet Olympic standards and is currently one of the most difficult competition venues in the world.
The Yanqing competition area consists of two competition venues, the National Alpine Ski Center and the National Snowmobile and Sledding Center, and two non-competition venues in the Yanqing Winter Olympic Village and the Winter News Center of Montana. According to information from the reporter from the Beijing Major Projects Bureau, as of yesterday, the construction of the eight competition venues in the Beijing and Yanqing competition areas of the Beijing Winter Olympics had been completed.
At present, the 7 slopes and ancillary facilities of the National Alpine Ski Center have completed all construction tasks and passed the site inspection certification from the International Snow Federation in November this year. Ancillary buildings, road systems, communication systems and water diversion systems for snow production have been completed and put into operation. The National Center for Alpine Skiing already has the conditions to carry out the competition.
The National Snowmobile and Toboggan Center embraces the best track design in the world. In September this year, the stadium completed ice making and successfully passed the International Snowmobile and Sledding Federation certification. Furthermore, the Yanqing Winter Olympic Village and the Mountain News Center, which are not competitive venues, were also completed along with the two competition venues.
A complete internal transportation system has also been established in the Yanqing competition area. In the competition area, a total of 7 internal roads have been built with a total length of approximately 14 kilometers, road No. 2 and the technical roads in the park support the transportation tasks in the competition area. At the same time, a total of 11 cable cars have been designed at the National Alpine Ski Center and 5 transfer stations with cable cars of different standards have been formed to ensure that athletes can reach the starting point of each event in 30 minutes from the Olympic Winter Village.
Yu Dequan said that in addition to ensuring demand during the competition, Yanqing’s competition area has also drawn up a long-term plan for sustainable use after the competition. The National Snowmobile and Sled Center specially designed the massive experience track using some of the relatively flat stages. The National Alpine Ski Center will preserve the road under construction and transform it into a public ski slope in the future. The Yanqing Winter Olympic Village will be used as a tourist reception hotel in the future, and the adjacent mountain village Xidazhuangke Village will be upgraded and transformed into an ice and snow cultivation bed and breakfast. In the future, Xiaohaituo Mountain will definitely become a tourist attraction.
