According to Hong Kong media reports, the latest outbreak of the epidemic occurred at Regent Gardens in Kowloon. There were 7 confirmed cases on December 9, of which 5 people lived in Block 6 of Regent Gardens and the other two lived in seats 4 and 18..
Yuan Guoyong, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Microbiology at the University of Hong Kong and an expert government consultant, visited the Regent Garden on the morning of the 10th to understand how the virus spreads. Health officials said some of the confirmed cases at Regent Garden were related to the previous dance infection cluster.
According to statistics, Regent Garden is one of the largest public housing estates in Hong Kong, with 22 residential buildings ranging from 32 to 34 stories high and providing nearly 6,000 residential units.
After the inspection, Yuan Guoyong said in an interview that since Regent Garden Block 6 has become an “epidemic area”, in order to prevent more people from being infected, all residents of Unit D in Block 6 will be sent to the isolation camp the same day; as for other units Residents are required to undergo mandatory tests.
Regarding the emergence of multiple confirmed patients in the area, some Regent Garden residents expressed concern that invisible patients in the area would spread the virus and spread the epidemic in the area, and would do their best to stay home.
Since mid-November, the Chinese Communist Party virus outbreak has flared again in Hong Kong, with thousands of people diagnosed.
In the last 8 days, 7 Hong Kong policemen have been infected. Among them, a 37-year-old police correspondent and a 48-year-old sergeant who were stationed together at the Command and Control Center of the Northern New Territories Regional Headquarters were diagnosed.
Police said that after organizing a group of colleagues who could be in close contact with the policewoman for testing, the police chief was found to be infected as well. He fell ill on December 3, 2 days after his colleague, but he was still at work 2 days after the start, and on the 6 day of his diagnosis, he was still going to the Wanfang ice room of the Fuyingmen Mall in Tai Po.
Since the Health Department has classified the male police chief as “epidemiologically related to the local case,” it means that the male police chief can become infected by close contact with female colleagues who have been infected without the source.
In addition to the two confirmed police officers mentioned above, six other police officers infected with the virus, including three police officers stationed in the police area of the airport, were initially diagnosed on the night of December 8. Among them, a 41-year-old police chief, a 32-year-old police officer, and a 28-year-old police officer.
Additionally, a 43-year-old female police officer stationed at the New Territories South Crime Prevention Office was initially diagnosed on the night of the 9th; and a 54-year-old police officer stationed at the Kowloon City Magistracy was diagnosed on the 6th. In the early hours of the morning, the police officer’s diagnostic number and the whereabouts of the incubation period have not yet been announced. .
In the latest wave of the epidemic, in addition to a large cluster of infections, such as dance venues, there have been more confirmed cases in two large residential areas, including Lijing Garden and Kwai Shing West Village. Of these, 22 people have been infected in Kwai Shing West Village.
According to a report by Radio Hong Kong on November 23, Hong Kong has added 50 new local cases of the Chinese Communist Party virus involving dance groups. The group has accumulated 132 cases, making it the largest infected group since the epidemic. At least 7 venues are involved, including restaurants, music venues, and dance schools. A total of 21 locations will be temporarily closed.
On November 25, a total of 187 people from the dance group were reported to have been infected, making it the largest infected group, and many celebrities and grandparents were recruited.
In response to the spread of the epidemic, the Hong Kong government announced a further tightening of epidemic prevention measures on December 8, including from the early morning of the 10th, banning places to eat after 6 a.m. late; reducing the number of people for banquets to 20; and limiting two seats per table in the restaurant. The customer limit is 50% of the number of seats and the bar will remain closed. Entertainment and party venues, sports centers, etc. are closed. The masks order and the two-person assembly restraining order continue to stand.
