A source in the British royal family told the BBC that Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, was infected with the new corona virus earlier this year.
In April, her nucleic acid test result is believed to be positive. In terms of time, it was similar to the time of infection of his father, Prince Charles.
According to the British “Sun” who first reported the incident, 38-year-old Prince William decided to keep his diagnosis a secret, so as not to disturb the country.
Kensington Palace, where Prince William is located, declined to comment.
According to the “Sun” report, Prince William, second in line to the throne, did not tell anyone the positive result of his test because “I have important things to do and I don’t want anyone to worry about it.”
The newspaper added that he was treated by court doctors and followed government guidelines to be quarantined at the Norfolk family home, Anmer Hall.
The BBC’s royal reporter Jonny Dymond said that Prince William’s condition was not made public at the time, probably because they wanted to avoid further panic considering the country’s mood.
“But the royal family also tried to preserve some privacy for its members,” added Diamond.
Prince William reportedly made 14 agreed phone calls and video calls in April.
Earlier that month, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had a video call with the children of key staff at an elementary school in Burnley, Lancashire.
Prince Charles was infected with the new corona virus in March and isolated himself for seven days after experiencing mild symptoms in Scotland.
At that time, the Duchess of Cornwall tested negative for the virus and was quarantined for 14 days.
The 71-year-old Prince of Wales later declared that he “escaped the effect (of the virus) with relative ease.”
Prince Charles said at his first public event after recovering from the novel corona virus that he has not fully recovered his sense of taste and smell.
In April, Boris Johnson was also admitted to the hospital after testing positive for the virus.
The prime minister was transferred for a time to the intensive care unit, when he improved, thanked the medical staff for saving his life and hinted at the possibility of death.
When the news broke that Prince William had been infected with the new corona virus, the UK was about to enter the second national lockdown. This Thursday (November 5), the UK will initiate a four-week lockdown.
The UK recorded another 23,254 confirmed coronavirus cases on Sunday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases since the start of the epidemic to 1.03 million.
Another 162 people died within 28 days of testing positive. This brings the total number of deaths in the UK to 46,717.
