The journalist noted that, according to statistics from the General Administration of Customs, from January to August, the total value of China’s import and export merchandise trade was 20.05 trillion yuan, 0.6% less than in the same period last year, and the rate of decline decreased by 1.1 percentage points from the previous seven months. Among them, exports were 11.05 billion yuan, an increase of 0.8%; imports were 9 billion yuan, a decrease of 2.3%; the trade surplus was 2.05 trillion yuan, an increase of 17.2%.
In a single month, China’s foreign trade imports and exports in August were 2.88 trillion yuan, an increase of 6%. Among them, exports were 1.65 trillion yuan, an increase of 11.6%; imports were 1.23 trillion yuan, a decrease of 0.5%; the trade surplus was 416.59 trillion yuan, an increase of 74.4%.
Gao Feng pointed out that in the next step, we will focus on the objectives and tasks of promoting the stability and quality of foreign trade throughout the year, focusing on the following tasks: First, we will firmly grasp the implementation of foreign trade policies to ensure that relevant policies benefit market players as soon as possible. Second, we fully support companies to get orders and hold the 128th Canton Fair successfully. “The third is to accelerate the cultivation of new forms and business models in foreign trade. The fourth is to actively promote the expansion of exports of daily necessities, continue to do a good job in exporting epidemic prevention materials, strictly control the quality of exports and standardize the export order.
