Four days after the death of Diego Maradona (Diego Maradona), Argentine prosecutors began to investigate whether his doctor was involved in a homicide.
To find out if Leopoldo Luque was negligent in his treatment plan after Maradona’s surgery, the Buenos Aires police searched the doctor’s home and clinic.
On November 25, Maradona died in a convalescent home of cardiac arrest at the age of 60.
Luke is not currently charged with any crime. He denied any wrongdoing.
Maradona had successfully undergone a cerebral thrombosis operation in early November and should have been treated for alcohol dependence.
Maradona’s daughters asked for more details about the drugs they used.
What is the research for?
On Sunday morning local time, some 30 police officers searched Luke’s residence, and another 20 police officers searched his clinic in the Argentine capital, Buenos Aires.
The search was ordered by the Prosecutor’s Office in an attempt to reconstruct what Maradona experienced in the last days of his home.
Local officials said some computers, mobile phones and medical records were taken.
Some voices suspect that Maradona’s convalescent environment at home may not meet the requirements for his discharge from the clinic, such as a team of 24-hour “drug abuse specialty” nurses, waiting doctors, and a car equipped with Ambulance with defibrillator.
Officials wanted to know what Luke was involved in in the rehabilitation arrangements for Maradona’s home.
What did Luke say?
Luke, 39, is said to be Maradona’s personal physician. At an emotional press conference on Sunday, Luke burst into tears and said that he had done everything he could to save his friend’s life. He said that Maradona has been very sad recently.
He once launched a counterattack at journalists: “Do you want to know what I am responsible for? I am responsible for loving him, taking care of him, extending his life and improving it until the last minute.
The doctor claimed that he had done “everything he could until it was impossible.”
In response to some of the concerns authorities are investigating, Luke’s statement raised questions about his role. “If you ask me, I’m a neurosurgeon and my job is over. My job with him is over.” He was referring to the November surgery and insisted that Maradona was home. It is not responsible for recovery and rehabilitation.
“He (Maradona) should go to a rehab center. He doesn’t want to go,” said Luke, who also called Maradona “difficult to handle.”
He also claimed that he did not know why there was no defibrillator and who was responsible for the lack of an ambulance outside Maradona’s residence.
He also said: Diego was “very sad, he wanted to be alone, not because he did not love his daughters, his family or those around him.”
Why is Maradona so popular?
Diego Maradona was the captain of the Argentine team when he won the 1986 World Cup. In the quarterfinals against England, he scored the famous goal of the “Hand of God”.
During his career, Maradona played for the Barcelona (Barcelona) and Napoli (Napoli) clubs and won two Serie A titles during his time in Naples. He began his career at Club Argentinos Juniors (Argentinos Juniors, Little Argentines), and also worked in Sevilla (Sevilla, Sevier), Boca Juniors (Boca Juniors, Little Boca) and Newell’s Old Boys. (Newell’s Old Boys, Newell’s Old Boys) and other clubs.
He played 91 times for the Argentine national team, scored 34 goals and represented Argentina in the World Cup four times.
At the 1990 World Cup in Italy, Maradona led Argentina to the final as captain, but ultimately lost to West Germany. Four years later, Maradona again participated in the United States World Cup as captain, but was declared illegal in a drug test. The ephedrine drug was kicked out of the World Cup halfway through.
In the second half of his career, Maradona became trapped by cocaine addiction and was sentenced to a 15-month suspension after a positive drug test in 1991.
In 1997, Maradona retired on his 37th birthday. Before retiring, he was playing for the second time in the Argentine giant’s Boca youth team.
He briefly coached two Argentine club teams before retiring. In 2008, Maradona was appointed head coach of the Argentine national team. After Argentina was defeated by the German team in the 2010 World Cup quarterfinals, Maradona left the national team.
Then he was a coach in the United Arab Emirates and Mexico and before his death he served as head coach of the Gimnasia y Esgrima (Gannazia) club of the Argentine Football League.
