The International Forum on Human Poverty Reduction Experiences opened in Beijing on December 14. By sending a congratulatory letter to the forum, President Xi Jinping explained in detail China’s practice and China’s contribution to the history of reducing human poverty, showing China’s determination to continue to consolidate and expand its achievements in reducing human poverty. poverty and work with other countries of the world to advance the international process of poverty reduction.
Eliminating poverty has been the dream of mankind since ancient times, and it is also the dream of people around the world to pursue a happy life. The Communist Party of China and the Chinese government have always aimed to make people live a good life and have made strenuous long-term efforts to achieve it. Since 2012, China has launched a comprehensive fight against poverty based on previous poverty alleviation efforts. After 8 years of continuous efforts, the rural poor have been lifted out of poverty this year by China’s current standards, all poor counties have been eliminated, and nearly 100 million rural poor people have been lifted out of poverty. Looking back at China’s unprecedented intensity, scale, and impact of poverty alleviation, people increasingly feel that the persistent and relentless practice of poverty alleviation not only shows the bright background of China’s development, it also makes a significant contribution to the cause of global poverty reduction.
China’s successful practice in poverty alleviation and valuable experience derived from practical exploration have been increasingly recognized by the international community and provided useful references for the world. One of them is that China adheres to the development-oriented poverty alleviation policy and considers development to be the fundamental way to solve poverty. It is both poverty alleviation and aspirational, mobilizing enthusiasm for poverty alleviation goals, enhancing its development capacity, and playing its leading role. Development is the last word and the key to solving all problems. Countries should adhere to the concept of priority development, adopt comprehensive and balanced policies and measures, create a sound international economic environment, led by the implementation of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, promote poverty reduction and development through trade, strengthen development cooperation and play the role of reducing digital poverty. Provide more opportunities for small and medium-sized businesses, women, youth, and other disadvantaged groups to get rid of poverty and become rich.
Those who aspire to travel thousands of miles will stop without being in the middle. At present, China has achieved a great victory in poverty alleviation and will continue to consolidate and expand its achievements, constantly promoting common prosperity, continuously improving people’s well-being, and continuing to contribute to the reduction of global poverty. As the international community sees development as the fundamental way to solve poverty and works together and collaborates, it will surely inject more confidence in building a community with a shared future for humanity without poverty and without common development.
