The minister then responds to Gaga’s tweet to the social media, writing: “We are happy to help. Finding a vaccine as soon as possible is crucial in the global fight against Covid19. We need to join forces to achieve that.”
On Wednesday, the minister announced in a letter to Parliament that the Netherlands is contributing € 50 million to international research on a corona vaccine. The Norwegian foundation CEPI (Coalition for Epidemic Prepraredness Innovations) collects donations from around the world to fund research on vaccines against infectious diseases.
The world star also makes a contribution during the crown crisis. Lady Gaga donates 20% of her profits from her beauty brand, Haus Labs, to local food banks in Los Angeles and New York. She also organizes a charity concert on April 18, One world: together at home. Artists such as Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lopez, Alicia Keys, Sam Smith, Usher and Pharrell Williams will also participate in the Lady Gaga initiative on Saturday, which will air on MTV, the BBC and all major American television channels.
Lady Gaga organized the concert in collaboration with Global Citizen. The event aims to reflect on the work of health workers during the crown crisis and to support the World Health Organization.
