Apple has been using the known rounded sides in the design of iPhones since the iPhone 6 in 2014. But 2020 really seems to be the year that Apple returns to the flat design of the iPhone 4 and 5 series. The new schematic drawings of the iPhone 12 Pro Max show what this design will look like.
“Schematic drawings iPhone 12 Pro Max shows the design”
The drawings were discovered by rumors. @MaxWeinbach, who was often right in the past. Note that the schematic drawings are not yet 100% final, but they give a good idea of what the design of the iPhone 12 Pro Max will look like. These so-called CADs are from January.
For example, we see thinner screen edges on the front. According to rumors, the largest iPhone will have a 6.7-inch screen, a step above 6.5 inches now on the iPhone 11 Pro Max. The edges have been reduced by about 60% to about 1.5 millimeters. Looking at the camera, the lenses seem to stick out less. With current models, all three lenses stick out a bit more than the camera bump, but that would no longer be the case with the next generation of iPhones.
Other details that come up are the smaller notch, although there are also schematic drawings where the notch is the same as with the current series of iPhones. The drawings are said to come from a Foxconn factory and are generally distributed to box makers so they can make accessories sooner. In the video below you can see many more images and a doll of the iPhone 12 Pro Max. The smaller iPhone 12 Pro is expected to have the same design.
