At the award ceremony, 12 works of English-language micro-films created by students from Shude’s International Department competed for 14 awards, including best film, best director, best screenwriter, and best male / female lead role. The award ceremony also invited three special guests: professional film and television director Mr. Shuai Peidong, a 2009 graduate of the International Department, film curator, independent producer, Ms. Song Xiaojia, a graduate of the Film Department of the University of California, Berkeley, and the International Department. His partner Li Aiyue, graduated in 2016 and is currently studying film at New York University’s Tisch College.
After careful selection by this year’s jury, the microfilm “Be-Good, kid” shot by the International Department’s IB3 Class 2019 lead creative team won the “Special Recommendation Award”, “Best Film” and “Best film”. There are 6 awards for “Best Director”, “Best Actress”, “Best Editing” and “Best Male Contributor”. The AP1 class of 2019 and the IB1 class of 2019 won “Best Screenplay” and “Best Actor” awards respectively. The IB3 class of 2020 won the “Best Actress” award. The most interesting thing is that the best supporting actor was won by the grandfather who was a student of the International Department and was almost 80 years old, and the best supporting actress was won by the student’s mother.
