On December 16, the Beijing Medical Security Bureau issued the “Notice on Issues Concerning the Application of Electronic Health Insurance Vouchers for Medical Settlement.” The “Notice” clarified that Beijing will use electronic health insurance coupons for medical settlement on January 1, 2021. At the same time, the Beijing Municipal Health Insurance Bureau recalled that if the insured chooses to use the electronic certificate of health insurance for medical clearance, it is recommended to complete the activation of the electronic certificate of health insurance before seeking medical attention.
According to reports, there are currently multiple channel platforms that can activate electronic health insurance coupons. The so-called electronic health insurance certificate is uniformly issued by the national health insurance information platform and is an electronic means of identifying health insurance identity generated for all insured persons based on the database of basic health insurance information. The electronic certificate adopts real name / real person authentication technology and uses an encryption algorithm to form an electronic identity, which has important characteristics such as security, reliability and unique authentication. Participants will be able to enjoy various health insurance services online through electronic vouchers, including commercial health insurance processing, health insurance account inquiries, health insurance visits, and drug purchase payments.
The competent person in charge of the Beijing Municipal Health Insurance Bureau recalled that the insured can only make a medical agreement after the electronic certificate of health insurance is activated.
It is understood that current basic health insurance participants can activate electronic health insurance certificates through city-certified multi-channel platforms, including Beijing Tong app, national health insurance service platform app, WeChat app, Alipay and the financial institution.
Enter the keyword query “medical insurance electronic voucher” in the corresponding APP of the multi-channel platform, and you can find the activation entry of the medical insurance electronic voucher. After logging in, on the pop-up page, select the registration location where you are. Click “Activate Now” to activate after authentication.
