A total of more than 2,000 contestants from the Yanoda Rainforest Cultural Tourism Zone set out on a 156.5-kilometer journey to the sea. In the end, Lujiazui Bull Gang, Aoyuan Running Team and Yiju Marathon Club Elite Team B reached the finish line in Yalong Bay, Sanya, in 8 hours 35 minutes 3 seconds, 8 hours 45 minutes 55 seconds and 8 hours 57 minutes and 6 seconds. The China Yueshan Xianghairen Car Relay Race originated in the United States and has a 38-year history. Since its inception, the Yueshan Xianghai Chinese People’s Car Relay Race has formed Zhangjiakou in summer and Hainan in winter. Multicultural parties, like fiestas, have become an experienced, off-road, long-distance team racing relay event loved by runners around the world.
The 2020 Yueshan Xianghairen Car Relay Hainan peak year-end race will be held in Hainan. The event will further help Hainan promote the deep integration of sport and tourism, and will play a role in Hainan’s goal of creating a “sports + tourism” city card.
This year is the second year that the Yueshan Xianghairen Car Relay Hainan peak year-end race has been held. In just one year, the number of participants has multiplied and the number of participants has increased from 32 to 155. By the end of 2020, more than 2,000 participants have gathered. In 2020, more than 2,000 runners started running early in the morning, passing through the rainforest, enjoying characteristic folk performances, experiencing Hainan’s tropical customs in depth, and going to the sea on behalf of a group. On the white sand beach at the end of Yalong Bay, the event’s organizing committee, along with founding partner BMW, gold partner adidasTERREX, and partners like Casarte and Shaoyin, not only turned the ending point into a venue for the returning runners. At the same time, it attracts a large number of tourists as if it has become a meeting place for the end of the year celebrations.
