On December 13, the National Day of Remembrance of the victims of the Nanjing Massacre, the penetrating power of the Jiangdongmen bell is stronger and resonates in the hearts of all Chinese. Nanjing is one of the few cities in the country that has sounded the alarm twice a year, once on September 18 and once on National Memorial Day.
