The Asia-Pacific region is a major engine of global economic growth, and its vitality, potential, and direction of economic growth directly affect global economic development. APEC is the highest-level, broadest and most influential trade and economic cooperation mechanism in the Asia-Pacific region. Its birth more than 30 years ago was in line with the historical trend of openness and integration. For 30 years, its development has promoted the liberalization of regional trade and investment. The facilitation has promoted the interconnection of regional hardware, software and personnel exchanges, improved the level of regional economic integration, and deepened the concept of a community with a shared future in Asia and the Pacific. In November this year, the 27th APEC Informal Leaders Meeting adopted the “APEC Putrajaya Vision 2040”, promising to strongly support the multilateral trading system, promote the vigorous development of the digital economy and achieve economic sustainability and inclusion. For growth, we are committed to building an open, dynamic, resilient and peaceful Asia-Pacific community.
In today’s world, the trend of economic globalization is irreversible, and China has been deeply integrated into the world economy and the international system for a long time. Since 2013, at APEC informal leaders meetings and business leaders summits and on other occasions, President Xi Jinping has always held high the flag of peace, development, cooperation and mutual benefit, he has championed the spirit of partnership and has led regional cooperation along multilateralism and mutual consultation.
