US President Donald Trump said that his personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani (Rudy Giuliani) tested positive for the new corona virus.
Trump tweeted: “Get well soon Rudy, we’ll move on!”
Giuliani is the leader of a series of legal proceedings initiated by the Trump team against the results of the 2020 presidential elections. It is the latest case of new crown pneumonia in people close to Trump.
Trump and his team have been criticized for failing to adhere to protection guidelines. Trump himself was diagnosed in October.
The US media reported that Giuliani, 76, was sent to Medstar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC.
Giuliani himself also tweeted to express his gratitude to everyone for their concern and wishes, and at the same time that he is “making a quick recovery.”
His son Andrew Giuliani (Andrew Giuliani), who works in the White House, was diagnosed in November. Andrew Giuliani said on Twitter that his father “rests, is well cared for and feels good.”
It is not clear to the outside world if Giuliani developed symptoms and when he contracted the virus.
According to data from Johns Hopkins University, about 14.6 million people in the United States have been infected with the new crown and 281,234 people have died as a result. These two figures are the highest figures of any country in the world.
Deborah Birx, coordinator of the White House COVID-19 Task Force, criticized the Trump administration on Sunday for ignoring the guidelines and spreading “myths” about the epidemic.
“I heard community members repeating those things like parrots, repeating that masks don’t work, repeating that we must move in the direction of herd immunity,” he told NBC.
“This is the worst this country will face,” he said.
Since the US elections on November 3, Giuliani has traveled to different regions of the United States to overthrow Trump’s defeat in the elections, but none of these efforts have worked. In many activities in which he participated, he was seen many times without wearing a mask and ignoring social distance.
He also traveled to Georgia last Thursday, where he repeated unproven arguments about voter fraud at a state Senate committee hearing on election security.
Since October, dozens of people around Trump have been reported to have been diagnosed with the new corona virus. Giuliani’s son Andrew, who served as a White House aide, was diagnosed last month.
Another Trump adviser, Boris Epshteyn (Boris Epshteyn), appeared with Rudy Giuliani at a press conference on November 25 and stood by his side. Epstein was diagnosed shortly after the press conference.
Trump’s chief of staff Mark Meadows, press secretary Kelly McEnany (Kayleigh McEnany), his wife Melania, their children Donald Jr and Baron have also been diagnosed before.
Trump was diagnosed less than a month before the general election. This diagnosis and the hospital admission blocked his reelection campaign.
He refused to admit defeat after the election results were released and insisted that the election results were stolen or tampered with without evidence. US Attorney General Bill Barr said last week that the Justice Department had not seen any evidence to support widespread claims of voter fraud that could change the election results.
Biden will be sworn in as president on January 20, 2021.
