On Thursday night (Nov 26), Trump tweeted condemning Twitter’s massive discrimination against conservatives and urged termination of Article 230 of the Communications Regulation Act, which provides an umbrella of immunity for social media.
“For national security, Article 230 must be terminated immediately!” Trump said on Twitter.
President Trump directed the United States Department of Commerce in May this year to file a petition with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) seeking to restrict the legal protection of social media companies such as Twitter and Facebook under Section 230. of the Communications Regulation Law of 1996.
