These 10 demonstration zones cover former industrial bases in the East, Middle, West and Northeast, and include sea, land and air ports, reflecting the power and development potential of China’s imports.

In recent years, China has continuously lowered the overall level of tariffs, improved trade facilitation, and achieved positive results in expanding imports. China’s domestic market has great space and great potential. There are more than 400 million people in the middle income group. People’s needs for a better life continue to increase and the proportion of imports in the world continues to increase. According to WTO data, China’s imports accounted for 11.3% of the world’s share in the first half of this year, an increase of 0.8 percentage points over the same period last year and a record. The role of Chinese imports in promoting global economic recovery has been significantly enhanced.

The demo area is understood to have two main functions. One is “trade promotion”, which means promoting exports, industry and consumption, the other is “trade innovation”, which means policy innovation, service innovation and model innovation.
