China News Service, Chengdu, Sept. 25 (Wang Peng) Sichuan Investment Group announced on the 25th that the group-Longchi smart high-speed project test site “synergy between vehicles and roads” was officially completed and put into use on the same day, which is the southwest region. The first “vehicle-road synergy” test site is also the first closed high-speed test site for 5G smart grids and L4 autonomous driving in the Southwest.

The test site is located on the Longchi section of the Sichuan Duwen Expressway. This section was closed after a major landslide in 2009 and is currently a closed high-speed section with no social vehicles. The length of the road section is 2.6 kilometers, including mountain road road types such as straight lines, curves, longitudinal slopes, tunnels, etc., facilitating collaborative vehicle-road testing in multiple scenarios.

In recent years, autonomous driving has become a benchmark in the industry. To realize unmanned driving, it has become the industry consensus to have both “smart cars” and “smart roads”.

It is understood that at the Longchi test site, Sichuan Investment and China Mobile have deployed 5G base stations, built 5G networks, roadside smart grid connection and other facilities, and combined with the Beidou positioning system to carry out research key technology of 5G smart grid connection automatic driving and southwest China Test the region’s exclusive terrain research.

A device pole is installed every few meters on this section of the road, equipped with sensors such as cameras, millimeter wave radar, lidar, and base stations from the 5G network, which can collect information from the road surface and road conditions. the road in real time, and transmit them to the background for analysis. Connected to the Internet, the analysis results are exchanged with autonomous vehicles for millisecond-accurate transmission, so that autonomous vehicles can operate more smoothly and safely.

Longchi Test Field test solution has built an overall “platform + cloud + test vehicle” structure, including 5 main platforms, namely, comprehensive automated driving test platform, V2X network test certification platform, Information and data security testing evaluation platform State-of-the-art storage analysis platform and research platform.

It is understood that, compared to the existing test sites in China, the Longchi test site is more complex and technically more difficult. Its test site scenarios are compatible with the 34 standard scenarios proposed by the three ministries (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Ministry of Public Security and National Committee for Standardization Management). There are 84 scenarios for vehicle-road collaboration and 306 scenarios for autonomous driving, which fully cover the testing and verification requirements of smart grid connections.
