After the material review, on-site assessment and comprehensive assessment by the China Museum Association, and reported to the State Administration of Cultural Heritage for registration, the 14 Qingdao museums passed the assessment and rated and they were promoted to first, second and third class national museums. Among them, Tsingtao Beer Museum and Qingdao Mountain Paotai Site Exhibition Hall were rated as first-class national museums; Qingdao German Governor’s Building Site Museum, Qingdao Folklore Museum and 7 other museums were rated as second-class national museums; Qingdao Revolutionary Martyrs Memorial Hall, Qingdao Road Transportation Museum, etc. Seven museums have been awarded the National Museum Class III. Qingdao Shell Museum, Qingdao Baolong Fine Arts Museum, Qingdao Jinshi Art Museum, Qingdao Yellow Sea College Museum, Qingdao Jiaodong Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum, as representatives of non-state museums in our city, participated in the national evaluation and classification for the first time and they got all grades. After evaluation and rating, there are 19 museums in the first, second and third level in our city, including 3 first-level museums, 7 second-level museums, and 9 third-level museums.

According to the regulations of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, the evaluation and classification of museums is based on the comprehensive management and construction of museum infrastructure, management of collections and scientific research, exhibitions and social services, etc., to all cultural relics on the territory of China. The comprehensive evaluation conducted by various open museums is divided into three levels from highest to lowest, among them, the first-level national museum is the highest level. A total of 800 museums across the country signed up for the evaluation. In the end, 520 museums met the qualification evaluation requirements. The national participation rate was 65%. 100% of the 14 museums selected by our city approved, which fully reflects the museum career of our city in recent years.
