The workers of the Candelaria Union -of the Candelaria Mine- accepted the last formal offer made by the company on November 12, 2020, a proposal that was signed late last night on Friday.
“With this, the workers of this Union they will end the strike and resume their functions “, the company indicated.
With the foregoing, therefore, a mobilization that had an “indefinite” character and that lasted for more than 30 days was terminated.
In detail, the negotiation included a $ 17.5 million bond for each worker belonging to the Union; and best agreements for the 2020-2023 period.
“We express our gratitude to the members of the Candelaria Union and its leadership for accepting a beneficial and responsible proposal, with the best interests of our workers and the sustainability of our business,” the mining company said in a statement.
In this same context, Candelaria will now seek to reach satisfactory agreements with the two Supervisors’ Unions with which it is currently in the process of regulated negotiation, “as well as with the Mine Union, which remains on strike,” he said.
