This Wednesday, after long negotiations, the Labor Commission of the Chamber of Deputies dispatched the Government project that allows a 10% second withdrawal of pension funds.
At the beginning of the session, the instance approved an indication that allows the forced withdrawal of funds from the AFPs for parents who are debtors of alimony.
In addition, an indication from the Government that sought to oblige pension fund administrators to inform their members of the impact that this second withdrawal will generate was rejected.
On the other hand, it was approved to reduce the time of payment of the funds requested by the affiliate. In this way, the AFPs will have 10 working days to pay the first installment and another 10 business days to cancel the second.
Along the same lines, it was supported that if the requested amount is equal to or less than 35 UF ($ 1 million), The money must be delivered in a single installment and within a period of no more than 10 business days after making the request.
On another matter, the parliamentarians rejected an indication from the Government that sought that the affiliates should obligatorily reimburse the funds rescued from their individual accounts, known as the “Self-loan”.
Despite this, Minister of Finance, Ignacio Briones, He clarified that the Executive will insist on this point in the Finance Commission, where the project will continue to legislate.
In another aspect, the parliamentarians also approved that the withdrawn amounts do not affect the socioeconomic characterization for the purposes of qualifying for state benefits and subsidies.
Finally, the legislative body approved an amendment presented today by the Government, to exempt from paying taxes to people who request their second withdrawal of 10% from the AFP, and have incomes of less than 1.5 million pesos.
After its dispatch from the instance, the initiative will continue its processing this Thursday in the Finance Commission, before it can be voted on by the Chamber of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate.
