Today the news of the death of the actor, dental surgeon and former member of the Mexican Garibaldi, Xavier Ortiz, 48 years old, was known. The information was released by the deputy and president of the culture and cinematography commission of that country, Sergio Mayer.

“With deep sadness and great pain, I report the death of my dear brother and great colleague of the Garibaldi Group and actor, Xavier Ortiz”, says the message of the also founder of the group on Twitter.

“My sincere condolences to his family, friends, and the arts community,” he added.

In the midst of the economic crisis due to coronavirus, Ortiz, an original former member of Garibaldi, had started a business of sanitary products due to his economic problems, according to information from Infobae.

“Thank God I have a few savings, but every month your account lowers and the nerve begins to flow,” he had pointed out last April to the TV Azteca entertainment program Windowing.

As a member of Garibaldi, Ortiz began his musical career in 1989, in Mexico City, when he joined names such as Patricia Manterola, Charly López, Sergio Mayer and Pilar Montenegro, under the musical production of Luis de Llano Macedo, with whom he recorded songs like “La Ventanita” and “Que te la pongo”, perhaps the biggest hits of the group.

The group performed at the 1993 Viña del Mar Festival, a performance that we review below:

So far the causes of his death have not been revealed.
