Chiefs raise the banner of the Super Bowl LIV Championship at Arrowhead Stadium

Kansas City, Mo. – The Kansas City Chiefs got a booty of their Super Bowl LIV championship on Saturday when the team hoisted a banner in front of two thousand fans at Arrowhead Stadium practice.

The Chiefs will repeat the ceremony on September 10 when they open the NFL season against the Houston Texans in front of 16,000 fans.

“The championship banner will be special,” said quarterback Patrick Mahoms. “It will be something you will remember for the rest of your life.” I’m glad we have a lot of the same people on the team who were with me for that tour.

“We’re going to enjoy it together and then we’re playing and trying to find another way.”

Coach Andy Red was not too enthusiastic about the ceremony.

“Texans are coming to town,” he said. “We’ve realized that. We have to make sure we’re ready to hack the football team. We know how good they are. We’ve played enough of them and moving on with these guys.”

The banner, erected by Chairman Clark Hunt and another co-owner and brother Lamar, joined the banner of Chiefs Super Bowl IV. It represents the only other Super Bowl championship in franchise history.
