Chicago Weather Radar: The first measurable snowfall of the season falls on parts of the area

CHICAGO (WLS) – Some of the first measurable snow of the season fell on parts of the Chicago area Tuesday morning.

Most of the ice melts after coming in contact with the ground. In the northern and western suburbs, where temperatures dropped on Tuesday morning, an accumulation of about 1 inch of snow is possible.

By 11 a.m., three inches of snow had fallen in Aurora and Wheaton, and Huntili had two inches of snow each. In the city, .8 inches of snow fell in Midway and O’Hare received .7 inches of snow.

With the first snowfall a few years later than expected, Priya Patel felt that we had taken a break.

“We have but now it’s time to guess,” he said. “Kinda feels good.”

Shemberg was shrouded in a blanket of wet snow, forcing people like Angelica Cajedorviz to dig their own snow brush.

“I’m glad it’s very light snow,” Kajedrovicz said. “It doesn’t really stick that there was no snow on my windshield. I had to chip from there. So it’s kind of really nice.”

Clear weather conditions prevailed on the way to some areas, which turned into slippery cloth due to the weather. Jerry Giuliano took his dogs for a walk there.

“I like all the asons tuo,” Gualino said. “I don’t like winter so long. Initially, I liked it, but it’s too long and I want it to go away.”

The north and west of the city experience an inch of snow or less, making it difficult for more temperatures to accumulate.

Karin Wagner is happy that winter did not come on Halloween like last year.

“The fact that it’s almost Thanksgiving and we’re just getting snow is great,” Wagner said.

By 6:34 a.m. at Chicago’s airports, Midway is reporting less than 15 minutes of delay and seven cancellations. The Ohre delay is also less than 15 minutes and there have been 26 cancellations.
