Cher’s mission to save the Post Office is not going as planned.
Over the past week, the pop star has been active on the U.S. Postal Service, from the genesis by First Postmaster General Benjamin Franklin in 1775 to his source in the 2020 presidential election. Celebrities have encouraged their U.S. citizen base to vote the Nov. 3 date by mail to prevent coronavirus from potentially spreading to polling stations.
But with President Donald Trump refusing to provide the $ 25 billion in financial aid to the current USPS crisis because delayed deliveries could present a major interference with mail-in voting, people have bought stamps and sent letters to lovers to stimulate the system. But Cher has another practical approach she wanted to practice.
“Can ppl volunteer at post office !?” she asked her 3.8 million Twitter followers on Wednesday (Aug. 19) before working out her battle over the phone. “OK, 2 post offices mentioned in Malibu. They were polite. I said, ‘This is Cher, and I would like to know if you ever volunteer, said,’ She did not know me & gave me # From supervisor. I called & said Hi This is Cher Do You accept volunteers. ‘NO, Fingerprints and background checks required.’
Many confused fans have responded with other suggestions, from donating email sorters to registering as a poll worker to even designing a stamp collection.
