Frank Lampard is expected to stick with the three-man defense that worked so well for Chelsea in their FA Cup semi-final victory over Manchester United when they plan tonight’s trip to Liverpool.
Lampard surprised by changing to a 3-4-3 at Wembley and Chelsea produced one of their best displays of the season when they flew to United.
It was the first time the Blues had used the formation since the restart and Lampard might be tempted to go with him again against champion Liverpool.
N’Golo Kante remains on the sidelines with a hamstring injury and the system adapts to the players available for Lampard.
Kepa Arrizabalaga will return to goal after cup goalkeeper Willy Caballero played against United.
Christian Pulisic stayed on the bench at Wembley with a slight injury because Lampard didn’t want to risk it, but the American could return to Anfield, with Chelsea knowing that a victory would ensure a result between the top four and Champions League football for the next season.
